PMT Young Artist Series (YAS!) announces its second YAS! Superstar virtual singing competition.

This online/in-person hybrid singing competition is an opportunity for students to shake up their summer routine and to show off their skills in a big way!  And the best part--the competition is also completely free to enter!  Dust off your favorite musical theater or pop music song and enter for your chance to win private coaching sessions, customized PMT YAS! merch, scholarships to upcoming programs, Amazon gift cards, and special live performance opportunities with PMT Productions.  (Complete list of awards below.)

​​RULES & REQUIREMENTS

• video submission of musical theater or pop song
• submission must be recorded exclusively for use in YAS! Superstar; previously recorded performances may not be used
• all entries must be accompanied by live music or prerecorded accompaniment track; no a capella singing will be allowed
• accompaniment track should not contain any backing vocals or guide vocals​
• only one (1) entry allowed per student
• intermediate division designated for students ages 6-12; advanced division designated for students ages 13-18
• entries will be judged on the criteria used during PMT YAS! competition team auditions (adjudication rubric link)
• student must include the following statement at the beginning of the video (slate portion): "My name is [name].  I am [number] years old.  And today, I'll be performing [title of song].  Are you ready for a superstar performance?"

Division Finalists, Fan Favorites, & Producer's Choice will be announced via livestream to social media platforms on August 29, 2021, 6:00PM (Facebook, Instagram, & YouTube)

/ SEPTEMBER 11, 2021, 6:00PM
Intermediate & Advanced Division Finalists will perform for a live audience at PMT YAS! Studio; 1st-3rd place winners will be announced live; special performances by Producer's Choice winner

INTERMEDIATE & ADVANCED DIVISION AWARDS

• Full scholarship to one (1) PMT YAS! program of your choice (Cabaret Camp, Creative Courses, or full-scale production)
• Two (2) ​hour-long coaching sessions with Eduardo Guzman (music) and/or Shannon Nichols (acting)

2nd PLACE

• Two (2) complimentary "trial classes" for Creative Courses; or one (1) complimentary workshop
